An emotional connection…and a serious jolt

This ad is one of those that sticks with you all day long. It’s sweet, it’s sentimental, and it’s ultimately horrifying.

Spoiler Alert – watch the ad before reading on*

The creators did a great job creating an emotional connection which strengthens the shock factor. Like the Priest-Imam ad from a couple of weeks ago, it offers no spoilers of what is to come. Throughout the ad, we focus on Evan’s budding love story, blissfully unaware that another, much more important, story is unfolding in the background.

The message of this ad is that often, gun violence is preventable if you recognize the warning signs, and it comes through loud and clear. The spot was created by Sandy Hook Promise, a non-profit founded by family members of children who died in the Sandy Hook shooting.
