Clever Google Maps Hack-Prank

Performance artist Simon Weckert loaded 99 phones into a cart and pulled them around some quiet corners of Berlin. Google Maps, naturally, interpreted this as a traffic jam and showed red congestion lines to anybody looking at the area. Ingenious. Learn more about the piece and Weckerts thinking here. BTW, you don’t have to be this imaginative to make your mark on Google Maps. Google offers basic advertising tools that make showing up easy. If you’re a local business you should definitely try it out. And if you want to get really creative with location data and marketing, here’s some inspiration.
