United Business Media (UBM) is a publicly traded media company based in the UK with global operations—and a history that goes back to Samuel Morse (of the code fame). One of their many properties is EDN.com — a web site that offers deep tech info for electronics design engineers (as in the people who design semiconductors and the like) plus news and strategic business insight for industry execs.
EDN just launched a beta version of their new site — one that is much more community driven than the current site. They contracted with BKW to create a video to show off the beta site. UBM showed the video last week to 10,000 attendees at UBM’s Design West conference in San Jose, California.
BKW worked with UBM Electronics marketing director Joy Daniels and EDN’s director of content, Patrick Mannion.
Big props to two BKW Creative Network members for their fantastic work on this project: Karlyn Michelson who interviewed and shot Patrick’s interview in New York, and Graham Hancock who edited here in California. The project was run by Kristin.
A new version of the video is slated to go online once the beta test period comes to a close.
This is cool, BTW. Of the many companies under the UBM umbrella, the history of one of them goes waaaaaay back almost two centuries to the Journal of Commerce which was founded and first published by Samuel Morse – of Morse Code fame – in 1827.
